Presenting the 7th IYTT Youth Conference

24 brilliant minds

20 March

Too many citizens of the world are unheard or excluded from representative democracy, while authoritarian regimes cynically manipulate and roll back democratic processes. Today’s societal challenges must be met with the persistent strengths of an open, lively democracy that actualizes citizens’ political equality, empowerment, participation, and emancipation in new ways.

In hard competition, from among 227 applications, we have chosen 24 young brilliant minds to run the 7th annual IYTT Youth Conference in Washington DC on April 14-18, hosted at McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University.

It is an amazing privilege to evolve the IYTT activities together with all amazingly brilliant and good-hearten youth that want to engage in our actions. It certainly gives hope for a much brighter future. A big thanks to all 227 applicants and the 24 selected participants in this year’s conference!

The 24 participants have one thing in common – they are studying at universities in many different places in the US. In the conference we will offer them inspiring meetings with executive professionals and research scholars as part of a structured and moderated program. But the key thing is that they jointly are expected to craft a dozen visionary proposals on democratization, peace keeping and democracy renewal.

The conference will conclude in a report and a presentation on the last day April 17. This session like the opening panel on April 14 is open to the public. If you want to participate, RSVP is on April 11. Program for the two public sessions and RSVP you find here.

Our 7th youth conference is unthinkable if it hadn’t been for the generous support from our sponsor the Sten A Olsson Foundation, and the co-sponsor Angus Advisory Group. In the way of thanks we are much grateful to McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University, for graciously hosting the conference.
