IYC21 Report Launch at Democracy Birthday Party
7 March
Presenting our ideas for the next hundred years
Marking the 100-year anniversary of Swedish democracy, the government committee for a strong Democracy has been given the task of strengthening democracy for the hundred years to come. This work is reaching its peak on 15 March, with the event ”Demokratin 100 år – en framtidsdag” (Democracy 100 years – a day for the future), in which the IYTT will be playing a central part. The event, taking place at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, will be bringing leading politicians and academics together with citizens and will include a joint stage programme, seminars, performances, workshops and an expo area.
The IYTT will be part of the joint stage programme in several ways. A film introducing the work of the IYTT and the and outcome of the International Youth Conference 2021, will be shown to the full physical and online audience, after which Youth fellow Wilma Johansson will be presenting the final report from the conference to comittee chairman Peter Örn. Following this, Youth Fellow Julia Strandquist will be introducing a panel of representatives from various youth organisations in a brief display of the discussion method used in our Open Chair Democracy Talks.
Julia and Wilma will also do full Open Chair Democracy Talks with attendees during breaks and, true to the IYTT ideals of participation and empowerment, take the event outside and do talks with passers-by in crowded down-town Stockholm.
The report from the International Youth Conference 2021 will be made available here on our website on 15 March, as will the movie introducing the IYTT.
The event is open to everyone, sign up here.
