Online Civic Engagement Hub

There are significant gaps in awareness for programs like IYTT and other exchange opportunities that are critical to creating space for conversations and cultivating a globally-conscious mindset. To promote equitable access to civic engagement resources and opportunities, we propose creating a database to connect individuals with these opportunities.

The Civic Engagement Hub would be a centrally located database of resources for people to find and apply to civic opportunities. The database would include advanced search and matching features to find local and global opportunities such as exchange programs, conferences (like IYTT), and training. With search and match features, users will be able to find opportunities that align with their interests. The hub would include a User Network where users are encouraged to meet and interact with others to discuss programs and create community. Through a community chat feature, we hope that users will offer each other advice and encouragement and discuss what engagement looks like in their community. The Hub will raise awareness of civic opportunities, inform of local and global issues, and provide corresponding opportunities.
